Is there a ‘break-in’ period after regulation before watch ‘settles’, 48h or more?

I just had my Tissot watch regulated by an authorized Tissot dealer I recently found.

He did a very good job at first sight (I measure every 12 hours with Watchaccuracy.com). At first 3 days ago the watch was at -3.4 sec/day and now today it is at +5.1 sec/day.

I just remember an old local watchmaker telling me years ago that after each regulation I should wait 48 hours just to let the watch 'settle in' again.
Is this true?
