About 1955, my father bought a Chronomat from the Bennett Brother's "Blue Book". (Think of a hardbound Sears catalog specializing in luxury goods. It was distributed annually, usually to corporations as a source of employee awards and gifts.) Bennett Brothers began as a Chicago jeweler in the late 1800s.
He wore it for a decade before replacing it with a Baume & Mercier and consigning it to the sock drawer.
