After a bit of advice. Currently get broadband via copper wire (fibre to the box in the road then copper to the house) and also still use a non digital phone on the landline.
Currently paying £46 to Now for this service but been looking for a slightly better deal. Most broadband providers don’t really do phone line as most people will use the broadband router for their phone if they use a home phone at all.
My concern is if I go with a new provider, and get broadband only, would I lose my phone number? Only have the home phone so my elderly father can ring me at home.
Also, does broadband still come down the copper wires or does someone have to drill a new hole in the house (I’m not considering virgin and their fibre to the house)?
