If a watch has been sitting in a store (and unworn) for over 10 years, does it still need servicing?

Like, would the watch need new gaskets, etc? (Just wondering since a watch shop I visit do have some old watches that have been unsold for 5 to 10 years).

I know, it's a technical question but was wondering if anyone would have insights.
