I’ve had my (inherited) dad’s watch for about a decade now, and it’s time to get it serviced as the mainspring feels like it’s broken inside. It’s one of the very early 861s, with pre-moon case back and flat link bracelet. My dad wore this watch while he worked at the Cape (NASA) during the Gemini and Apollo missions!
I’m a bit torn about how original to keep it. I won’t be polishing the case as it’s in good shape and nice and sharp, but am somewhat open to a “full restore” by omega…
