What’s Wrong With a Mille Miglia?

I do not need a chronograph and am not particularly interested in motor racing, so it's not for me, but in my tracking of auctions, chrono24 etc I cannot help noticing there is not a lot of love for this watch. It's a top name brand (Chopard) it's a complication, it is not too vast for people with normal wrists to wear – so why can you pick one up for $3000 or less? Is it the servicing costs or something?
