The word obviously can mean a whole lot of things, but I ask this question specifically about the dial on my watch.
I have here a regular silver dial, a dial they refer to as "linen", and another linen dial with patina. The middle one somehow shows as more or less blue depending on the light and angle. Perhaps it's chemically treated or coated – lacquered – somehow. The third one appears to have developed a handsome patina over time. I believe this one…
