Warranty question - buy new from grey market or used watch that was purchased at AD?

Hello all, I’m looking at a Mark XX right now and trying to decide the best approach for my purchase. What are your thoughts on the following:

Buy new from a grey market dealer

or…

Buy used from an individual who has proof of purchase and warranty card from an AD or boutique?

The prices should be fairly similar (low-mid 4k). Normally I’d choose new every time, but with what I’ve read about IWC’s eight year warranty, I’m thinking that might be the more prudent decision.
