Vintage Bulova Astronaut how to check to see if it will run

I have the chance to pick up a vintage bulova astronaut gmt watch. Is there any way to see if it will run. If it will run it is worth a lot more. It is currently not running can I just stick a battery in there? It's a tuning fork movement.
