The perfect OP

Many microbrands have an OP or Explorer variant. One could say that the PRS-25 is that watch for Smiths. I disagree. I think the perfect platform for a superior OP alternative is the prs-29, with some key improvements : a 3 part link bracelet addition and various dial options like a sunray champagne dial with applied markers.

I think the thinness, the handwind, the case shape of the prs-29 is one of the best, and better than the OP. I love my W10 prs-29 and the Air Ministry version. But I wish there were more versions. I’d love a version with a 3 part link bracelet and a champagne dial with applied markers.

What makes Rolex and Tudors the best brands is that they offer the perfect 4 required watches: the diver, the GMT, the chronograph and the simple sports/dress watch the OP. Smiths also almost provide the perfect 4 watch options but they are missing a chronograph with antimagnetic protection. Smiths does have a plethora of OP like options but my collection is missing a champagne dial.
