if you could only have one…

Here’s a interesting theoretical dilemma…
What if we could only have one watch?
Would it be auto or quartz? Diver or dress? Vintage or modern?
I have often thought about this question over the years and find myself torn between the different models available, but in the end, I always come back to a Seiko Diver.
Before the mm300 series came out, I would have chosen a basic 6309 diver for it robust movement, which seems to have an “everlasting gobstopper” sort of quality to it. Even in the…

SLA037 Owners Thread

I received my SLA037 which is my second Seiko, the first being a mini turtle PADI. So I’m not too familiar with Seiko watches but what drew me to this piece is as I’ve explained on post #111 of the “Why does this cost so much thread”– what I think is the exceptional future value and collectibility of this particular piece. And of course the design is what pulled me in for a closer look initially. On a paper, the SLA037/SBEX009 is an absolute looker.

In person, the first word I’d describe…

Uncle Seiko GL831 snapped in half

Hi guys,

okay so I got myself an Uncle Seiko GL831 a couple years ago for my Turtle. I ABSOLUTELY love that strap, back then I even made a thread about it.

Yesterday, as I was litteraly doing nothing, just sitting down in front of my computer screen, I felt the strap snap on my wrist and the watch fell off into my sleeve lol.

I’m a little disapointed as I obviously won’t be replacing it with another one from Uncle Seiko and I don’t know where I can source a good one.

It’s worth saying…

Help me identify if watch has undergone parts replacement

I’m new to watch collecting. I recently bought a secondhand watch on a repair shop around my area. I had it buffed to remove some of the scratches and make it look shiny. I want to know if they have replaced the original parts. I tried to search online but I cant find any picture of the dial code. Here are the details

Seiko 5 Automatic 21 Jewels
Dial code: 7S26-11L2 R2
Back case: 7S26-02E0 A4 KY
Strap: 3282-G-E
Reference number: missing (I think it was erased due to age)

Please help me identify the Seiko.

I’ll try to ask again, because the previous thread was closed and that wasn’t what I meant. Most of the comments were not nice and not substantive. Yes, I know that this is not a Seiko SRPH57. The bezel is not the same and there is no engraving of a turtle on the back. The question is what is it, because it is not a fake either. The workmanship is identical to other Seikos. A watchmaker checked it and claims that these are parts of an original Seiko. I’m asking if anyone knows of a batch…

NOS for Seiko?

Just curious if anyone has any recommended sources for NOS when it comes to Seiko pieces? I would like to find a Tuna SBBN031 in very good (if not excellent) condition, and I got to wondering whether there might be any potential websites/sellers out t…

Seiko 9020-5100

Hey everyone,

I recently came across the Seiko 9020-5100 and am really interested in picking one up. From what I’ve gathered, it’s a sleek quartz model from the late ‘70s to early ‘80s, featuring Seiko’s ultra-thin 9020 movement. The integrated bracel…

Seiko Prospex LX Watches – The Unofficial Thread!

Hi Everyone,
The Seiko Prospex LX are a relatively new line extension and visibility has been pretty sparse through the middle of 2020. Recently I acquired the SNR033 to go with my SNR029 and so I thought it might be a good time to start an official “unofficial” showoff thread. Several of you have already posted their watches and so it’s my hope that this thread will serve as a place for owners and fans of the LX to show, learn, and share with the community and Seiko enthusiasts.
Cheers…
