Omega new SMP steel mesh bracelets – opinions ?

Hey guys,

I’m really tempted in buying the new Omega steel bracelet and switch my rubber strap on my SMP300. The Omega is my primary watch, I wear it every day. I was wondering what is your opinion about the Omega mesh as a “wear every day option”.

Does the mesh bracelets stretch like the jubilee ? Any problems with them I should be aware of (reliability of clasps etc.) What is your general opinion on wearing the mesh to casual / sport dressing ? Are you happy with yours ?

Thanks in…

Omega Planet Ocean 2500D / to service or not?

I just picked up a Planet Ocean 2500D last week, in near mint shape. It is keeping amazing time at just 1/2 second fast per day so I’d rather not get it serviced if I don’t need to.

My question is around water resistance. Since it is the 2500D movement, it was probably manufactured in 2011. I’m assuming it was never serviced.

I have no interest in diving with it but should I assume it has no water resistance or just less than it’s full 600m?

Thanks!

This is a thread to share your pics, thoughts, questions, wisdom and enthusiasm when it comes to the Seamaster “Swords Hands” models. Though never officially by Omega sometimes this family of models has been dubbed the “Peter Blake” by collectors.

There are many variations of size, movement, dial colour and case material.

Enjoy! [emoji1015][emoji114]

my kid’s birthyear SMP300: my “exit” watch

I have achieved another milestone of becoming a “landlord”, so wanted to treat myself with chump change from my surprisingly hefty tax return.

I have been looking for an “affordable” gada luxury sports watch that i will have no guilt wearing it the fullest for a long term, in rotation with my other watches. After all, my big dent in the wallet mandates i refrain from buying any toys for while.

i ran into this smp300. My kid too was fascinated with the looks of this watch, so i negotiated…

Tried on a couple of the new Seamsters at the brand new Omega Boutique in Boston

Went to Boston today for my wife’s birthday. I was allowed to stop into one store for myself lol. I really wanted to try on a couple of the new Seamasters on the Milanese bracelet. The first one was the one that held the most interest for me. The grey dial with the titanium bezel. I loved this watch, and also the bracelet. However, I find the lighting in most and watch and jewelry stores does not lend itself well to photography. And because of the face and bezel on this watch, I believe…

Planet Ocean 2500 Appreciation Thread

Whilst on vacation in Cancun I thought it would be fun to spin up a thread for the 2500.

We all (at least mostly I think) love the Planet Ocean. And while 2500 v 8500 is sometimes debated and there’s all sorts of speculation around what’s next for the PO line at Basel 2016, I’m finding newfound appreciation for the original 2500.

So, share a story. Ask a question. And by all means post pics! :)

Here’s a photo to start. More to follow…
