HAQ candidate: Omega Seamaster Regatta

I want to dive into checking the rate of my small collection of HAQ (& RC!) watches (& clocks!) and the video method seems to be an accessible way to go. My Google Pixel 6 Pro does 240FPS slo-mo, which is nice, so I’m just looking for a time reference. I’ve seen a few GPS supervised clocks at reasonable (to me) prices:

Hey guys. Here’s a head scratcher.

I just received my brand new vhp gmt a couple days ago. Date was fine, time wasn’t and my phone (2024 model samsung) wasn’t compatible with the app.

So I set the time and second for home manually.

Based on what i’ve read, you can’t go further than one day forward or back on this watch.

Whats strange was instead of a numbered date (31st), it showed the longines logo. Read somewhere that this is some kinda easter egg so I didn’t sweat it.

Dear HAQ friends,

I wonder why there few or no grand Seiko 9F quartz models with colorful dials compared to, for example, the grand Seiko spring drive models?
Technologically, a quartz movement without solar should not imply any restrictions.
I am thinking here, for example, of spring drive models such as SLGA019 or SBGH351.

At least that’s how it seems to me in Germany, perhaps the range is different in other countries.

Does anyone have experience with this automatic hand correction?
If you set time and the minute hand is slightly off – let’s say 1/6 minute – when does the correction take place?

I thought the movement controls the hand alignment 1.440 times a day, so every minute. Slightly missetting my minute hand by purpose didn’t show a result in a whole 24 hours.
Calling for the reference position showed the misalignment before and after this 24 hours and it could also be seen unaligned the whole time…
