GS purchased in 2025 made in 2023?

I’ve been googling the serial number meanings of GS and I learned a watch I bought for my wife was made in 2023. 2 years seems like a bit of time between when the watch was produced and when it was sold (I bought it from the GS online boutique for reference). I am curious what the first number is of the serial numbers are of your GS watches?

Grand Seiko SBGJ001/201 legibility issues due to poor eye sights

Well, it happened finally! I can’t read my beloved GS SBGJ001 with my naked eyes any more! With my eyeglasses, it’s kinda Okey! The thing is, I don’t use my glasses 24/7! Possible solutions (as I can’t live without a screw-down crown):

1. Replace the SBGJ001 with the SBGJ003/203/013/213
2. Upgrade to SBGJ235/231
3. Change to SBGE253/255/257

What say you?
P.S.: Will not consider those big GS GMTs in the 44mm size, as I have decided to keep things small! SBGE283/SBGE285, both are out of my…

Same difference?

Hi, all

I’m testing the waters for a nice 9F with a white dial, and so far I’ve narrowed it down to:

  • SBGX347
  • SBGX295
  • SBGX259

It looks like the 259 and 295 are the same watch, except that the 259 comes on a bracelet and the other one comes on a strap. If I’m not mistaken, the 295 has a subtle concentric circle texture on the dial, but I don’t know if the 259 has that.
Also, If I order the 295 from abroad, I think the strap would be subject to import restrictions, so…
