In the unlikely event I would ever buy a high end watch I think I’d be careful about where and what time of day I’d wear it.

I’m currently hunting for a good white dial field watch, preferably mechanical, under $200. The Vaer S5 is very close to my ideal. However, it is quartz. That wouldn’t be as much of an issue if it were less expensive, but I am having trouble justifying getting this watch at $189 when other quality quartz field watches at less than a third of the cost or Chinese automatics like the Berny AMT163M for less.
