Slovenian church bells strike the hours twice..(?)

I'm in the beautiful Slovenian Alps right now and there's a church in the small village where we stay. Its bell strikes the quarters, so 1 chime for 1st quarter, etc., then 4 chimes for 4 quarters at the full hour, followed by the hours with a different bell. So far, so normal in the many regions of Europe.

But then it strikes the hours again, 4 minutes later. Why is that? Anyone here familiar with that pattern? Maybe @veracruz might chime in (pun intended)?
