This was my father's, who passed away 5 years ago. It's a very well travelled watch, seen 10+ years in Africa, the middle East and a few trips to the far East.
The battery cover slot has rounded off a bit and wouldn't open, but it was easy to prise off the whole back cover. There was a tiny bit of moisture inside strangely, maybe water or perhaps a small leak from the battery.
A new battery has been ordered.
Is the cover brass, or plated? On the edges it looks like a plating that's worn…
