Ghent Wevelgem on March 30th is always a special on for the countries that fought on Flemish soil during WWI: the route meanders along the War Cemeteries of that period. As a remembrance and a tribute to the Allied forces who fought and died there.
Most Classics go back to the day when newspapers tried to attract more readers. The first classic of next Sunday, is called ‘Nieuwsblad’. Simply meaning ‘Newspaper’.
The Dutch Language area is larger than you might think. Dutch (or a dialect) is spoken between Calais in France and Oldenburg/Bremen in Germany.
