Pressure washer spin-off thread. A warning

I follow and contributed to the pressure washer thread and from there I started browsing a (Dutch) online marketplace. I found this:

The ad only mentions the fact that it’s a brand-new petrol engine powered pressure washer. A quick search for the type: B16-250 shows that it’s a Kränzle pressure washer for the price of 4,400 euros. The one in the ad is priced at 200 euros. But, is it a Kränzle? (The price difference is a give-away of course)

No, it’s a fake! And it’s perhaps good to show how to recognise the fake. I post this here because there’s no reason to assume that these machines are only for sale in the Netherlands. So, a warning. The ad text carefully avoids ‘Honda’ and/or ‘Kränzle’. Both words are signs of quality and will help the seller to sell it more quickly. Not here.

The easiest way to find that out, is the cover of the engine. Honda-red, yes. The hp is on the cover: 6.5. But it lacks the Honda emblem. That’s the main item. Letter fond of all text is different, but that’s hard to see when you cannot compare both.

The real Kränzle has the company name all over. Especially above the B16-250 sticker.

Finally, a real Kränzle. The real B16-250. There are more differences when you compare them. Kränzle changed the design of this machine a few times (e.g. added a reel for the hose). That makes comparing more difficult and the seller wants you to believe it’s ‘an old stock model’ etc . But this fake iit’s built to make you believe that you struck the deal of the century.
