Padded versus non padded leather straps

Hey all. Recently picked up a Tissot 1938 in Salmon and am having a little dilemma on whether or not I made a strap mistake.

I ordered a tapered Pueblo leather strap from Tuns, but selected the padded option instead of the slim option.

Little worried it may be too thick for such a slim watch. I’ve attached a picture of the strap. It hasn’t shipped yet, but I’m not really sure when to go with padded versus non? Worried about it overwhelming the watch
