Recommendation for a small day date refined watch

I have my eye on a Nomos Tangente 2Date but it's a bit pointless having 2 dates. It would have been great as a day date.

Also I don't have any positive feelings of them adding £220 for a display case back. Maybe the movement is finished better with the display back version?

I've noticed some very nice white dial and dress watches in those particular threads.
