Broken dial tabs

The 2 tiny spot welded tabs on the back of my Seiko Monster dial have broken off. Just like that. I wasn't fiddling with it. But it has been on my wrist 24/7 for 12 years.

Short of replacing the dial is there any other option.
What I have done and seems to work is to stick 4 little pieces of double sided scotch tape under the dial. They seem to be keeping it from rotating freely for now.
