Hi everyone,
A well-known respected dealer is selling a 1958 Seiko Marvel 14021. It features a 14k gold-filled case with a gorgeous black houndstooth/textured dial and solid gold applied indices.
The issue, for me, is the text. The dial clearly has "19 Jewels" printed directly above the 8-pointed SD (Special Dial) star. It is scratched so may appear as 13 at first glance.
From everything I have read (including specialdial.com), the 19-jewel Marvel appears to have never carried the SD logo…
