Mercedes main dealer servicing a new low

I have recently had my Merc serviced (it has a service plan) when the supposed master technician gave the car back he said there is an error message concerning the suspension and the horn doesn’t work, that was it no explanation or offer to fix the faults.

A couple of days later I took a look, first thing check power steering reservoir, nearly empty, checked for leaks, no oil anywhere, topped it up error message gone, no issues.

I couldn’t find the horn relay in the manual or online so called the dealer to ask them its location, I was told they are not allowed to give out that information, yes really! I took all the relays out prodded them with a power probe and found the horn relay, it wasn’t working, replaced it, all fixed.

This after they quoted me £2000 to replace a faulty gearbox cooling pump, the pump costs £105 from Mercedes dealers, it took me 40 minutes to replace it.

They really are rubbish.

Recently the local Mercedes dealers were acquired by group one automotive as were the Audi, mini and BMW dealers.
