I used to care about in house movements. Like really care. There was a point I collected movements more than I did watches. I thought ETA was crap and that in house movements added value. They add novelty, sure, but value? I’m not so sure.
I’m not particularly talking about in house movements with parts readily available, such as Seiko, Citizen, Orient et all. I’m talking about movements that have to go back to the manufacturer or a manufacturer service centre for anything.
