I've been pondering a potentially dangerous philosophical question: Is watch collecting actually a hobby?

I've always thought a hobby involved actually doing something. Woodworking, painting, gardening, restoring old cars, photography, playing an instrument. You know, activities where you develop a skill, create something, or at least get your hands dirty.
