First, don't get me wrong, I enjoy colors on dials. Colors can be fun. But that's not the issue.
The issue for me is that many, many brands are using "new" colors as a marketing "pop" but without much in the way of actual innovation. Brand X releases a new color for an existing watch, writes a press release, and then the watch press starts writing articles based on the press releases. Soon, the articles are all over the internet, with the press hyperventilating or bloviating (or both)…
