I love dive watches.
The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms has the pedigree, subtlety (of branding, not size), and design language of a pure tool watch that resonates with me more than even the most revered dive watch ever: yes, the Rolex Submariner. In my opinion, there is no better combination of legibility, proportions, refinement, hands, dial, lume, and bezel in the genre.
But… I don’t know that I love wearing dive watches.
