Manufacturer servicing is often excellent, but sometimes feels like a profit centre with work mandated that maybe could be optional. It’s less common to find a personal and more nuanced approach, so I hope nobody minds me sharing this.
I bought a BR02 from Chrono24, lovely condition but very sticky and indistinct crown. If I had ears to listen Dynam0humm gave me the answer.
I sent the watch to B&R service, the face of which is Lee Smith. I expected full service at £330. Lee looked at the watch very quickly, said it was just a crown gasket lack of lubrication issue, fixed it, pronounced the movement as not needing a service for another 5 years, wouldn’t take any money and sent the watch back to me RMSD in nice B&R service pouch. It only cost me the RMSD to him and it was back 8 days after arriving with him.
A brilliant experience, not typical of the likes of Rolex, Omega, Breitling etc.
I know the brand is a bit divisive, but I have 3 and am delighted to have this level of backup from the face of a brand that seems to care.
