Driving at night-how is it for you?

TZ-UK Forums TZ-UK Forums bwest76

Lately I have been finding it hard to see well enough that I feel safe.

Modern lights are just to bright coming forward and those big people carriers are a hazard from behind.

Its like a WW2 searchlight straight in my rear view mirror, ive been holding my hand over the mirror or even pulling over.

I bought sainsburys night driving glasses but they make little or no differance,I would buy better quality and try them but cant find any.

Maybe I am just an "old get"and its to be expected.

The problem is exacerbated in that my dad is hospital which is over a 100 miles round trip away and now they have moved him even further away to a community hospital.

I have been trying to be there for a meal or 2 to help him eat (the staff cant do it all) which leaves me driving back in the dark in nose to tail heavy traffic.

Last night one road was gridlocked and stopped (Swindon) so I took another road which after a I stopped at a petrol station was closed 5 minutes later due to an accident.

The sat nav then took me down very narrow lanes,I had other cars behind try to get me to move on but I just couldnt see well enough to speed up.

Does it effect you have you found a solution?
