Did or is any member going to mark VE Day?

Unless, you haven’t seen or heard the news during the past few days, and I wouldn’t blame you if you hadn’t.

But just asking if anyone has seen or attended any VE celebrations, street parties etc.

I haven’t heard of any being done here in Barnstaple.

But to mark the occasion, SWMBO and myself, will be visiting the Tower of London Friday to see the poppies.
Probably nowhere near as moving as the original occasion in 2014, but I have no doubt it will be a moving occasion.

On a footnote, the last time that I went to the Tower of London, was as a Guardsman, best guard duty, as you got 6 hours off instead of the normal 4.
Though, during our 48 hr duty, there was a Bomb Scare and so we had to go to our designated position, quite surreal lying on the ground with a loaded SLR pointing at MOP as the walked past.

That aside, what blew me away, as a young 18 yr old was The ceremony of the Keys, so moving.

There are somethings that we do really well.
