I’m considering adding a SBGM221 to my collection.
For me, the appeal is that it feels like one of GS genuinely iconic designs: the warm ivory dial, the excellent case and hands finishing, and the crisp contrast of its blued GMT hand.
I also like that it has its own GMT language, without falling in the usual Rolex bezel template.
My main hesitation, though, is the 13.7mm thickness, particularly on my 15.5cm wrist. While the lug-to-lug seems manageable, I’m concerned it may sit too tall…
