I've had this watch for almost 20 years and do not wear it much. I recently decided to take a closer look at the marings on the back. To my great surprise, the back cover is marked 18K 0.750, so it gold, rather than gold-plated.
The caseback removes easily (thin piece like most CS watches) and reveals gold-colored dust shield (?) that, I think is just gold-plated base metal, again, not surprising for an CS, right? The markings on caseback itself are 48, 706 and 102, the 102 in an odd shaped…
