Car Complaint Advice

Hi folks, some of you on here are pretty clued up with regards to legal/consumer matters so I’m wondering what my options may be. This is a long tale so I’ll cut it to a minimum.

I bought an approved used Lexus from a main dealer in autumn 22. Immediately the car pulled left, despite the 150 point check.

They looked at it, couldn’t fix it, and after two visits said it wasnt cost effective to work on so wanted to refund me. I told them if they are out of pocket it’s not my issue, I bought the car (at main dealer price) and they need to make it right. They tried again but couldn’t.

It’s never been right and chews through tyres. Today I went to a garage and using a laser gadget to measure the distance between the front and rear wheels, on one side they are 7mm closer than the other. WTAF!

The mechanic suspects it’s been driven into a kerb hard.

I’m gobsmacked they could sell it as approved used with 150 checks etc and miss a fundamental safety issue, not spotting it when they had it back a few times either. At one point they were even gaslighting me saying it’s following road camber.

At the time I raised with Lexus UK and they didn’t give a sh!t. The sale was with the dealer so nothing to do with them, despite the fact they are acting as an agent of Lexus.

I’ve no idea what to do, if anything, who to raise it with, or what I want to get from it, but I feel aggrieved and angry they have sold me a pup that could have caused injury or worse.

Now I know there’s a likely weakness there I’m thinking of offloading it asap in case I hit a pothole and the suspension fails.

Cheers.
