I recently sent in my Longines Master Retrograde for service because it's been running slow and the crown now feels seized when I try to wind it. Longines said it needs full service, and the hands have to be replaced because they are rusting.
Is it common for thermally blued hands to rust? I thought the bluing process creates a protective layer that helps stave off damage (including rust). I've had the watch for probably a decade but it's never been around water, save for the humid…
