Vintage DW-5900 revival incoming

I’ve been looking for a cheap enough vintage DW-5900 to go for the same restore job as @Deity42 has recently done in his thread here:
5900 crystal clean

I didn’t want to hijack his thread with a restoration of my own, so started this one.

So I just won a Japan T, (module 914), from Spain for just less than €20👍. I wanted a cheap one because then…

Small pocket watch ID if possible

I bought a little joblot of old watches the other day that were sold as spares/repairs. I only got it for one particular Casio watch case, but there were some decent watches in there anyway.

One of them is this little, (women’s?), pocket watch. It has no brand on either the dial or movement so this might be a bit of a waste of time question, but any info on age, etc, would be nice🙂.

The acrylic crystal has browned with age but is probably replaceable.

The movement is Swiss, and it has a…

USSR Sekonda help please

So I recently received a small joblot of vintage watches, bought because I was after one particular case that was part of it. There were other nice old watches as well though, one of which was a 26 Jewels USSR Sekonda, manual wind.

I know next to nothing about mechanical watches so forgive my lack of knowledge.

It runs pretty well, but I haven’t tested for timekeeping yet. Can you guys look at the photos of the movement and tell me how I can remove it from the case so I can dunk that in…

Casio Overland OAW-100TDJ

Not a G I know, but I thought I’d share this eBay win anyway.

I’ve seen the odd Overland on here before in the G and non G WRUW threads and thought they looked pretty good so decided to look for one.

I was surprised to win this for what I did, bearing in mind it’s titanium, (I know nothing about the Overland models so am unsure whether the OAW-100 has more than one version or if only in titanium?). So it was mine for just under a measly £32👍.

Another reason I went for it is because the…

Nice deal on DW-5300G but also a version query

So I did what I think was a great deal on this nice vintage 5300 last night🙂.

Offered and got accepted at £25!👍

It was up on eBay UK as not working and there’s, (obviously I guess), no bezel. It will also need a new, (DW-6900), strap.

I can get a Malaysian bezel for it, I had one from there for my other 5300 and they’re really good quality, and fit perfectly.

I’ll be checking it with a new battery first!

I do have a query in regards to which model this is though. Checking them out on…

F17 members really amaze me sometimes!

So today I had a PM from an F17 member who I’ve recently been chatting in Messages with about a particular item.

They sent me this message:- “I just won an auction that might be interesting. I would like to ship it to you as a surprise gift, if that is OK with you. It can be shipped directly from Japan to the UK.”

I’m not going to mention who it is yet, or what the conversation chain has been about. I have a vague idea what might be winging it’s way to me sometime soon, but I’ll…

DW-6900TR-1 30th Anniversary

I fancied one of these when they were announced a while back, it’s nice that the iconic 6900 is being celebrated at 30👍.

I didn’t like the two 25th models at all, I felt they were a bit “jokey” if that makes sense, they seemed a bit like a kids toy with their crazy LCD background and gloss resins. The three TR 30th models are much more of a proper celebration.

I preferred this black version because the accents like the red lettering and red G in the chrome light button seem to me to stand…

Ladies vintage mechanical ID please?

My mum passed away at the end of January and amongst the little bits I’m keeping is this nice little vintage mechanical watch.

Trench watch if I’m not mistaken?

There’s no branding on the dial, which has a nice kind of sunburst effect in segments and each of those is textured. The two hands are a nice dark metallic blue.

It’s got a 15 Jewels Swiss movement, (and forgive me here but I have no idea of part names), which on one of the large “cogs”, has 2 stars and two symbols of double…
