Farer – Positive Customer Service Story

I bought a Farer Discovery 36mm in red awhile back. I mentioned that early in a Tarriffs posting (TLDR, they paid any tariffs.) It arrived but I was on a 1 month bird watching trip. So it sat in my shipping center all month long. I was very excited to pick up and, wait….

It didn’t work. I wound it, I rotated it gently, nothing. I contacted them and they were surprised, since they check all watches when they leave England.

My 1972 Timex 26950

I bought on a spur of the moment, perhaps wine fueled, ebay dive. It was $67 plus a tiny amount of shipping. It supposedly ran fine, the ebay ad even had a video of it running. But I had read about the M27 movement having issues with the day/date mechanism if not properly maintained. It is 53 years old, who knows if it had been maintained, right?

And when I got it I found the ugly truth, it didn’t run on the wrist, it would stop within minutes. The seller was upset at me for being upset…
