Farer – Positive Customer Service Story

I bought a Farer Discovery 36mm in red awhile back. I mentioned that early in a Tarriffs posting (TLDR, they paid any tariffs.) It arrived but I was on a 1 month bird watching trip. So it sat in my shipping center all month long. I was very excited to pick up and, wait….

It didn’t work. I wound it, I rotated it gently, nothing. I contacted them and they were surprised, since they check all watches when they leave England.

The asked for a photo of the movement which I sent and they asked…

My 1972 Timex 26950

I bought on a spur of the moment, perhaps wine fueled, ebay dive. It was $67 plus a tiny amount of shipping. It supposedly ran fine, the ebay ad even had a video of it running. But I had read about the M27 movement having issues with the day/date mechanism if not properly maintained. It is 53 years old, who knows if it had been maintained, right?

And when I got it I found the ugly truth, it didn’t run on the wrist, it would stop within minutes. The seller was upset at me for being upset…

SOTSC – (State of the SPOUSE’S Collection)

My spouse puts up with my hobby. She’s even bought a really nice Seiko at Arizona Fine Time when I came away empty handed.

She loves her Apple Watch because it it has a Snoopy face. So last Christmas I got her a Timex Snoopy, thinking she’d wear it about once a month.

She wore it for about a month straight. And then she found herself on timex.com, and ebay, and I told her about Jomashop…

5 months later…

I’m just going to wear it for a week or more

I’m really have a hard time with my Glycine Chief GLO410

Image

It is my first 24 hour watch and I have half a century experience looking at 12 hour dials, and I’m in the US and didn’t work in a field that needed military time.

So I don’t wear it a lot. Yesterday I decided to wear it a ton. (I’m on the road now and I have a new watch waiting for me at home, so that one will need to get some wrist time.) But unless I’m kayaking, I’m wearing this one for awhile.

expertfinejewelry.com?

Does anyone have good or bad experiences with expertfinejewelry.com

It seems to be a new business and the price on the watch I’m interested in is certainly in the “too good to be true” category. Googlng “expertfinejewelry.com scam” goes to several scam detector websites, who all advise against it.

But it is the only place I can buy a certain watch. So I want it to be legit. :- ) :- )

My wife and watches. (Not what you think)

So I got my wife a Timex Snoopy this last Christmas. I thought she’d wear it once a month. She wears it all the time!

Image

So then she bought this one, it arrived today. We’re sitting around the table in the RV outside a Cracker Barrel and she’s talking about her new watch.

And then she talks about the ones she wants. She shows me a video.

It is out of stock. I find it on Jomashop. Add to cart. Checkout.

Then she…

Who is covering tariffs?

I bought a Farer last week, trying to get in before the tariffs hit. I then realized that I’ll pay the tariff on import so I wrote off to them asking them to delay the shipment. (I think there is a chance Congress will put a stop to this madness.)

Farer wrote back, at least right now they are covering the costs so net to their customers is the same!

Well done Farer. Anybody else have a similar story?
