How far from your average purchase was it?

Inspired by the “Luxury Watches vs. Index Funds on a Middle-Class Income: A Thought Exercise” thread.

Almost all of my watches are sub $500 buys. One or two pushed $700. But I don’t regret paying $1650 for my Mühle Glashütte, close to 4x my average purchase.

I actually use both complications on my Citizen eco-drive. My GMT hand is set to Berlin where my daughter lives. I use the dive bezel several times a week when I’m cooking. Now I’m considering going us a level to a nice automatic. Around $3k +/-? Here’s the required pics.

I’m looking at watches with both GMT and a dive bezel

I would post a picture, but I looked in my box and confirmed that I don’t have any watches with Roman numerals. They’re definitely not to my taste.

I put on one my Victorinox Infantry Vintage 241397 late last week to wear for a few days. For fun I synchronized it to the second with my laptop. Here we are, five days later, and it’s only slow by a single second. Simply astounding.

I think they look cheap. I doubt I’m the only one that feels this way. Even on a Rolex I looked at this weekend I thought “yuck”.
