I tried to change out a dive strap on a Certina PH500m this morning, and it failed. It’s had the same strap since not long after I bought it. One spring bar was fine; the other is rusted, both ends, and it’s stuck. I use a Bergeon spring bar tool, nice hardened tips, and I was concerned I was going to damage the tool. This has only happened to me once before, same situation – watch that always had the same bracelet on it, never had occasion to change it out. I’ll have to spritz it with WD40…
