Are watches a way to shape OUR fantasies? Diver, Pilot, Army & Navy, GMT world traveller, Nurse ?

I am in this like any other person, I think, but I was reflecting upon the fact that there must be many more watches around for each category of the aforementioned " job , hobby and character description" than there are people doing any of the things I mentioned (and many more).

In a way it isn't very different from other items of clothing.

I have always liked hats, since I was a very little boy, and it struck me at some point that there is a hat or cap for almost any human activity.
