Anyone familiar with this? Seiko srp579?

Hello. This is a real oddball here. Can’t find anything about it other than a few sales listings back in the day.
It’s a prospex monster-ish case at 44mm.

There’s a store at my local mall that has it for sale because they are no longer a Seiko dealer. It’s literally buried in the back of a bunch of clearance watches. It’s cool, I think. The guy offered it at $250. What do yall think.
