I’m sure that a few weeks ago a "wiggle test" was mentioned in a thread in relation to the slack or backlash in the hands of GMT watches. (can someone please confirm that I am not just imagining this!) Assuming that I didn’t imagine this, I have a question about it.
I have just put my very rarely worn, 2006 ish I think, GMT master 2 on and it’s quite obvious that there is some slack in the minute hand. My question is, is there a recognised acceptable amount of slack in the hands of a GMT? Looking at mine, when the second hand is pointing exactly at 12 o’clock the minute hand varies between pointing exactly at a minute marker and about mid way between minute markers. I know that this is a very minor problem, but unfortunately I’m finding this is really putting me off the watch.
Thanks very much for your time and I look forward to hearing your replies.
