Last Summer, I wrote here about my search for a vintage tuner/receiver/amp. And I ended up with a fine & restored Luxman receiver. I stumbled upon ‘tube amps’ during my search, but I didn’t pay attention to that. Now a few months on, I realise that I don’t know anything about this sort of amps. I even have no idea how to hook them up to a system. Some have (only?) 2x 2W tubes. Like this Philips AG9016 – just an example of an old.
And here an example of a modern one:
I don’t even know what to ask exactly. E.g.: what do I need / set-up for proper sound from my speakers? Where does a turntable fit in etc.
