Clamshell in Question

I recently picked up this Seamaster with what appears to be a clamshell dial. I’m aware the dial has been refinished at some point, but I’m hoping to confirm whether the underlying dial itself is an authentic factory clamshell dial and would have originally had this pattern. Any insight from those familiar with these would be greatly appreciated!
