I read that only about 10-12% of luxury watches sold are dress watches although the demand for that is increasing with more in the younger generation preferring them. I wear a lot of dress watches as I like their elegant look and I dress up more than most men do these days. I feel like it is totally OK to wear dress watches with casual clothes as many previous generations did while a sports/tool watches looks awkward with a suit.
