Hi folks,
Short version: The alarm setting and sound works fine provided the case back isn't screwed all the way down.
Detail: The problem with just leaving the caseback undone a bit is that it has to be so loose for the alarm to function correctly that it's barely catching the threads on the case at all. I replaced the gasket in case the old one was too squashed but it didn't help.
The only thing I can think of is there's a short happening on the caseback. To me it doesn't look like any…
