Breitling Caliber 74

If I'm understanding correctly, this is a discontinued movement based on the 955.652, which is also discontinued, correct? Is it a bad idea to buy an early/mid 2000 year Colt Quartz model these days? Does Breitling/ETA have enough stock to replace these movements/parts when/if they require service?
