Mystery Watch?

Hello, This was my brother's watch, that he said he purchased in Istanbul, probably in the '70's. I haven't been able to find the same watch anywhere….hoping that someone can decipher the 'Arabic' symbol on the front. Any information re age, origin, etc. would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
