Hey guys,
I am working on a Waltham model 1908 Grade Vanguard pocket watch, and I cannot get the barrel apart.
I have worked on many Waltham pocket watches but have yet to come across a barrel like this one.
The drive gear rotates independent from the arbor, and is attached to the spring, which makes me think that the arbor is two piece, and threaded together. ( it would have to be left hand threaded). I have tried to hold the arbor with a collet and turn the barrel by hand, but it will not…
